Joseph Stacks (Pastor)
Bro. Joseph C. Stacks “Bro. Joe”, was born in Little Rock in 1982, to Clay & Norma Stacks. He spent his younger days in Mabelvale, moving to Morrilton as a teenager. Joseph placed his faith in Jesus Christ at the age of 15 and was baptized by Bro. David Hiblong, under the authority of Olive Hill Missionary Baptist Church of Mabelvale, where his grandparents (Jerry & Lucille Stacks) served faithfully. Later that year, after attending Budd Creek Youth Camp, Joe announced his call to preach and was licensed by Olive Hill on September 2, 1998. Soon after, he united with Lonoke Missionary Baptist Church, Morrilton, under Bro. Dennis Holmes.
While attending Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia, majoring in Agriculture Education, Joe traveled each weekend to work on his uncle’s farm in Woodlawn. He united with Friendship MBC that winter, reaffirming his call to ministry and truly surrendering to the will of the Lord. Understanding that his declared major was not in-line with the will of the Lord, Joe found peace after changing his major to nursing. During the next two years, he was blessed to preach in many churches, while growing under the leadership of Bro. Jackie Richardson.
December 21, 2003 marked the beginning of pastoral ministry, when he accepted the call to New Hope Missionary Baptist Church of Rison, AR. He was ordained to the Gospel Ministry by Friendship Missionary Baptist Church on January 18, 2004. Joseph married Elizabeth Rogers on July 17, 2004 and the Lord has blessed them with two children; Julieann Elizabeth (2006) and Holland Carroll (2009).
During his pastorate at New Hope MBC (Dec. 2003- Jan. 2010), the Lord allowed him to work as a Registered Nurse in the emergency department and teach LPN students with a local community college. The Lord would use this experience later in Joseph’s ministry by allowing him to direct medical mission trips, in the Philippines, with Missionary Bro. Glen Knight.
In 2010, the Lord called Joseph and family to serve at Forest Grove MBC in Taylor. Attending Louisiana Missionary Baptist Seminary, Joseph received his Bachelor of Theology (2014) and Master of Theology (2016), while also completing his Bachelor of Science in Nursing at SAU-Magnolia, (2015). He joined the faculty of the Louisiana Seminary in 2017 and is currently working on his doctoral degree.
Bro. Joe has been blessed to serve in various capacities of local and state associational leadership, including serving as the Moderator of the State Association of Missionary Baptist Churches.
